In this week's edition of The Urban Gentleman Chronicles, I'm featuring 9FIVE Eyewear. I recently first saw this collection hit one of my favorite streetwear stores, CREAM (located in the Boynton Beach Mall). Love the designs for these glasses. Whether clear lenses or polarized shades, 9FIVE provides you with some limited collection designs at an affordable price (Typically between $60-$90). I recently got myself a pair of the Watson II design which bares similar resemblance to a Wayfarer style but the Python skin tips separated them from norm. Check out a few designs below and hit up their site for new releases coming this fall. Because our futures are too bright to not have on the dopest shades. Ladies and gentleman I introduce you to my newest weekly add-on to the blog, The Urban Gentleman Chronicles. This will be a weekly section where I let you know my newest designer discoveries, and fashion pickups. First up is a new company called Rastaclat, who put a twist on a bracelet line. Rastaclats, defined as the cloth of a righteous man or woman are designed to be paired with your favorite kicks and sports teams. They recently added a hemp series, a breast cancer awareness edition (portion of proceeds go to charity) and a highly anticipated collabo release with Diamond Supply. Valued between ten and twenty dollars, these can be collected and shared without killing your pocket.
I've been wearing these for month's now, glad I had a chance to finally write about them. I personally own about 12, but my favorites would have to be the SB Lebron, and the Gucci.
Check out more at: http://rastaclat.com/
Show Below: Tiffany Clat and Elephant Clat paired with my custom South Beach Spizikes.
(For Display only. If you choose to wear 2 Rastaclats at one time, I suggest the same wrist.)

It was a sad day for our country early Friday morning in Aurora, Colorado. I need not explain the situation because I'm sure you have already been enlightened on the matter via the national media coverage this event was surrounded by. Life is about going through obstacles, being broken down and rising above tragedy to find inner strength. With that said, let's begin to build up from this incident by donating to a great cause. An old fraternity brother of mine, Christopher Glanzman created a way for us to help out thousands of miles away. Introducing The Dark Knight fund. All proceeds will help out the families who suffered loses during this horrific event. Please help out anyway you can, and be a crusader who cares.

I apologize for the lack of posts this week but it is all in good reason. The Miami Heat have brought home another championship to the city of Miami, and a ring to the finger of possibly the greatest player of all time (we will argue that when he retires). I was at LIV nightclub Thursday night for the celebration. Had the chance to brush elbows with Udonis Haslum, Joel Anthony, and LMFAO, all of which were cool dudes. The energy in the building could not be described, but hopefully you can feel a little of the electricity when you watch this...
Congrats to the 2012 NBA Champion, MIAMI HEAT!
Heat City Bitch...
Video of the week goes out to the man from the Pitt, Mac Miller. Checkout the official video for his new single "Missed Calls" off his debut album Blue Slide Park. It's about that time, after an incredible Stanley Cup playoff, we find ourselves at the final two. I am proud to post that this year, my New Jersey Devil's have the honor to play for their forth Stanley Cup in team history. Led by some young talent, a coy head coach, and the greatest goalie to ever play, the Devils are in a great position to raise lord Stanley once again. Their opponents? The high flying L.A. Kings. A team that was made famous by superstar Wayne Gretzky back in the 90's, but unfortunately never got a chance to kiss the cup. I am expecting a well fought battle as game 1 begins tonight at 8pm.
Above you can view the media day press conference from veteran hall of famer Martin Brodeur. I had the pleasure of meeting this man twice in my life from autograph signings at local Jersey shopping malls. He was not only someone I admired but often imitated during my youth hockey days. Watching this playoff run has really gave me a sense of nostalgia, and I could not be happier to witness his chance to earn the Devils one final championship before hanging up his skates for good. My prediction, Devils in 6. Let's go Devils! #REDNATION
Video of the week goes to the homie representing for the West Coast, Compton Menace. Menace has been consistently providing us with some real dope joints as of late. Check out Dave 1(of Chromeo) and A-Trak throw down for the Fools Gold Block Party that went down in NY some time ago. Also appearing on stage is Craze and Just Blaze. For those who aren't familiar with A-Trak (who is one half of Duck Sauce), this dude is so incredibly talented on the turntables. The only real comparable skill in my eyes would be the late great DJ AM. Really dope video of the fellas running through everything from old school hip hop to Nu-Disco jams. The NY hipster crowd ate up every note. Watch above (for about 30 minutes) of some of the things these artists are capable of.

This week's artist, Michelle Forte, I had the pleasure of meeting last week when she performed live at the Solita Spring Fashion Show. This New Mexico native has been spreading her talent around Miami for quite sometime now since linking up with Single House Music. Not only is she easy on the eyes, but Michelle extrudes a kind of energy that electrifies a stage. I wouldn't pin point her into an exact genre but some would recognize it as New Wave/ Pop. While she's putting the finishing touches on her debut album, checkout her performance at Kitchen 305 promoting the first single "Take on the World" above. Not only does she have the look, and the talent, but she appeared humble and a real sweetheart ever since we met. It's almost refreshing to see Usher and Diplo join forces. Most would expect it to be a typical club banger that would get typical overplay at your nearby dance floor. Instead here comes a subtle ballad with just a touch of bang. Check out the premiere of Usher's "Climax" (Produced by Diplo) above.

Today, March 9th is the 15 year anniversary of Biggie Smalls passing. A true inspiration to many, especially on the east coast. Biggie was one of the most talented men to ever pick up a microphone. Today we reflect on what he actually did for the industry and how his hunger changed hip hop forever. We miss you BIG, now and always. "We can't change the world unless we change ourselves." -Notorious

Remix of the week is undoubtably from the homies Brass Knuckles. These dudes have been flying coast to coast in the past few months and are so consistent with their remixes. This one is an absolute smash, remixing Gotye's Somebody that I Used to Know. DJ Anthony Pisano (Liv/Louis Resident), Tony Livadas and Danny D'Brito make up the team, and they are under constant watch from the underground dance scene. Support the new remix and keep your eye on these rising remixers.

Last night I had the chance to see the highly anticipated Project X, whose most famous piece is Hangover producer Todd Phillips. This movie was kinda kept under wraps for a while but it is clear this film represents one thing, pure debauchery. And I mean that in the best way possible. I won't give away too much, but just enough to get my point across. From start to finish the film plays out from a first person camcorder witnessing one of the most epic parties to ever hit south California. It has it all, sex, drugs, drinking, explosions, midgets, partying...pretty much anything that can summon that inner high schooler in you, will. Don't expect any Oscar nominations here, just be prepared to witness a good time packed with laughs and a killer soundtrack. I mean who wouldn't like a movie that is banging beats from the likes of Cudi, A-Trak, Pusha T, Shiny Toy Guns, Nas and Wale just to name a few. Definitely go see this movie, perhaps under the influence...

Earlier this week the new indie band Fun. appeared on Conan to perform their skyrocket single "We Are Young" and promote their debut album Some Nights. Chances are you heard this record in a Chevy commercial, "We Are Young" has racked up over 8 million YouTube hits in a little over 2 months. This track is a sure anthem for our youth, and will easily put Fun. on top of the indie scene. Watch their LIVE performance above.

Download the remix to Rick Ross's smash mixtape single "Stay Schemin" right here. I teamed up with Bacon and Jonny Lyrks on a remix uniquely twisted "Stay Dreamin". Enjoy people...
There has been plenty of remixes for Rick Ross's smash mixtape single "Stay Schemin", I am actually putting one out this weekend with past artists of the week Bacon & Jonny Lyrks. But up until now I haven't heard a remix quite like this (more of an acoustic cover). Mike Posner and Black Bear (featured on the Layover's Marauder Music) gave the track a whole new angle playing a live acousic version. Posner is such a talented dude, we've been following him for quite a while now. Check out his acoustic cover of "Stay Schemin" above.

Landing the top spot for artist of the week goes out to Miami/Fort Lauderdale local DC. This dude has been on the scene for a hot minute, who began making music in high school with counterpart Conceited. After releasing multiple mixtape's to the underground, DC left the scene to tackle another passion, battling. This is actually where I first got the chance to see DC in action, where he was robbed of a Grindtime battle victory a couple years back. Now after careful preparation, DC is back with a much anticipated mixtape The World Ends with Dru that covers a range of topics from video games to comic books. This is the first of a trilogy series DC plans to put out in the Florida hip hop scene. It's always refreshing to get a new point of view from a hip hop standpoint, and Dru successfully delivers one with this tape. Lookout for tracks like "Mega Man 2" and "Marvel Vs. DC" which displays some dope wordplay tying in some credible comic book names. There is no denying the kid got bars, and the beats bang harder than a drunk step dad after playing your music too loud. Checkout and DOWNLOAD his FREE mixtape The World Ends with Dru right here:

He didn't really explain what exactly would be featured on the channel but did bring up the heavy influence today's music will have on it. Take a look at the announcement above, cause you know if Diddy is behind it, dude is gonna go big.
