Official Video-Dutch "World of Fantasy" Feat. Jonny L.y.r.k.s.

Check out the official video for the promo joint World of Fantasy produced by Heavy Weight Beats. This song was originally recorded back in 2009, but director Peter Johnson loved it so much he offered his services to shoot a video to help promote the soon to be released mixtape "Late Nights on Mars".

Moment of Silence: KANYE WEST

Check out this interview Kanye West did a few days ago to promote his upcoming album and set all dirty laundry straight. Kanye touches up on his thought process for snatching the mic from Taylor Swift, disrespecting George Bush on national television, and how technology has let him elevate his music and bring more of it to the masses. Def set the record straight, and is eye opening.

Love The Way You Lie Part II

Check out the second installment of Rihanna and Eminem's Love The Way You Lie being released on Rihanna's newest CD Loud coming this November. For those who think this will be some big follow up, sorry to dissapoint. The hook remains the same, and Em's mic time was cut. It's clear RiRi took the reigns on this one since it was her album but it definitely has a more upbeat sound. If there was a shining light on this track it would be that Em is absolutely bananas with his wordplay and follows up the first even harder. Download the joint right here:

Lupe Fiasco Freestyle on SHADE45

Lupe swung by the Shade45 studios to visit DJ Tony Touch for an interview and dropped a freestyle for the people. I got to give it to Lupe because most emcees come on and do these radio interviews and always have a 16 (verse) prepared for a live "freestyle". This is obviously off the top. So hats off to Lupe who is dropping his Lasers album very soon. Check out the free right here:

New Joint: MIAMI HORROR

In the spirit of Halloween, I'm releasing my second single off of my upcoming mixtape Late Nights on Mars. In Miami Horror (Produced by Killabits & Love Thy Brother) expect a lyrical nightmare combined with a hard dubstep beat. This ish will rage hard on the electronic scene and is definitely unlike anything I've done before. Always love jumping into a new sound, and this will be a great bang on this heavy loaded mixtape coming soon.

ZzZ: Don't Sleep on J.Cole

One of the newest up and comers this year is J. Cole. This young emcee hailing from North Carolina has been rising on the hip hop scene this passed year and have even raised the head of Jay-Z who featured him on the Blueprint III (A Star is Born). Hov also had J.Cole open for him at Yankee Stadium during his joint concert with Eminem earlier this past September. Here's his latest joint "I'm Coming Home". Definitely hop out of bed and keep ya ear to the ground for this kid.

G.O.O.D. FRIDAY: The Joy

The latest GOOD Friday release features Curtis Mayfield, Pete Rock, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi & Charlie Wilson. A smooth-vibed cool joint. I might be more impressed with Ye's weekly drops than the efforts i hear for his upcoming album "My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy". My input on the matter is this, Kanye has a true love for hip hop, the classic old school flavor that crafts him as a lyricist. Then there is the artsy side to Kanye, where he may not be the most lyrical but he packs so much emotional passion in what he is saying, it doesnt matter. Expect his new album to be more indie sounding than ever before. Personally he should release a second album titled "Good Friday" to come along free with the purchase of his CD, but hey what do i know...im just a dope emcee, with a bachelor degree with more opinions than a jewish mother.

New Joint: Nicki Minaj Feat. Eminem "Roman's Revenge"

Well, the talks of this collabo happened only a few days ago and the internet buzz has been increasing by the hour. Nicki Minaj, who is all set to release her debut album Pink Friday has received one of the biggest honors in hip hop...an Eminem feature. Although this collab is one of the more stranger mixes of talent, both artists tend to have an alter-ego wild side and both of them are expressed here. In the single "Roman's Revenge" expect some crazy word play from both emcees, with a back and forth approach similar to Em & Dre in "Guilty Conscience" (Slim Shady LP). The song is good, not great...but they both did their thing. The hook actual channels some inner "scenario" paying homage to Busta (Rhymes) for his classic verse on the Tribe Called Quest smash. Pink Friday is set to be released on Nov 22nd along with heavyweights Kanye, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, among others.

Download: Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager

Well, here it is...the very anticipated Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager has finally been released on the net and you can be one of the firsts to get a listen. In Cudder's sophomore release expect the same melodic tone as his first but with some more credible features, a little darker creative input and drug-filled story line. Sadly, Common does not narrate the tale as he does in Cudi's previous effort.

Whip My Hair

Alright now I'm not a big fan of posting ridiculous videos but i couldnt resist this one. Hollywoods newest rising singer, Willow Smith's (9 Year old daughter of Will & Jada) joint Whip My Hair is an absolute banger but combined with the dance skills of this parrot, make it all the more reason to watch it again and again...

If you been living under a rock lately you should be informed that kanye has been releasing a free joint every Friday for the past month or so (find them @ http://kanyewest.com/). Here is the latest titled "Don't Stop" featuring his CRS (Child Rebel Soldiers) castmates Pharell & Lupe Fiasco. First Lupe, Now Nas Expresses Label Frustration

Nas is planning for a new release but Def Jam on the other hand...is not. Nas, who will go down in hip hop history as one of the greatest to ever graze a mic, is not feeling the love from his Def Jam label and released a letter to them earlier today. Nas had this to say:

From: Nas
To: LA Reid, Steve Bartels, Steve Gawley, Michael Seltzer, Joseph Borrino, Chris Hicks
Subject: PUT MY S*** OUT!

Peace to all,

With all do respect to you all, Nas is NOBODY’s slave. This is not the 1800′s, respect me and I will respect you.

I won’t even tap dance around in an email, I will get right into it. People connect to the Artist @ the end of the day, they don’t connect with the executives. Honestly, nobody even cares what label puts out a great record, they care about who recorded it. Yet time and time again its the executives who always stand in the way of a creative artist’s dream and aspirations. You don’t help draw the truth from my deepest and most inner soul, you don’t even do a great job @ selling it. The #1 problem with DEF JAM is pretty simple and obvious, the executives think they are the stars. You aren’t…. not even close. As a matter of fact, you wish you were, but it didn’t work out so you took a desk job. To the consumer, I COME FIRST. Stop trying to deprive them! I have a fan base that dies for my music and a RAP label that doesn’t understand RAP. Pretty f***** up situation

This isn’t the 90′s though. Beefing with record labels is so 15 years ago. @ this point I just need you all to be very clear where I stand and how I feel about “my label.” I could go on twitter or hot 97 tomorrow and get 100,000 protesters @ your building but I choose to walk my own path my own way because since day one I have been my own man. I did business with Tommy Mottola and Donnie Einer, two of the most psycho dudes this business ever created. I worked well with them for one major reason……. they believed in me. The didn’t give a f*** about what any radio station or magazine said….those dudes had me.

Lost Tapes is a movement and a very important set up piece for my career as it stands. I started this over 5 years ago @ Columbia and nobody knew what it was or what it did but the label put it out as an LP and the fans went crazy for it and I single handlely built a new brand of rap albums. It’s smart and after 5 years it’s still a head of the game. This feels great and you not feeling what I’m feeling is disturbing. Don’t get in the way of my creativity. We are aligned with the stars here, this is a movement. There is a thing called KARMA that comes to haunt you when you tamper with the aligning stars. WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Stop throwing dog s*** on a MAGICAL moment.

You don’t get another Nas recording that doesn’t count against my deal….PERIOD! Keep your b******* $200,000.00 fund. Open the REAL budget. This is a New York pioneers ALBUM, there ain’t many of us. I am ready to drop in the 4th quarter. You don’t even have s*** coming out! Stop being your own worst enemy. Let’s get money!

-N.Jones

First Lupe, now NAS. What is hip hop coming to when the successful dope artists can't even get the support of the people who believe in them from the start. Hopefully they will submit to Nas's demands like Atlantic did with Lupe.

Lupe Resolves Dispute with Atlantic

A few days ago I posted about how Lupe Fiasco's latest CD Lasers has been on tight lock from his label Atlantic Records. Lupe took to his twitter and it seems they have finally reached agreement just days before a Pro-Lupe protest was set to bombard entrance of Atlantic Records in NYC. The release date for Lasers will be delivered prior to the October 15th deadline. Justice has been served for Lupe, but if he does plan on a forth quarter drop, he'll be competing with the likes of Kanye, Kid Cudi, Nicki Minaj, Lloyd Banks, Ne-Yo, Akon & Flo Rida.

Check Out: The Social Network

Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland, Zombieland) did a phenominal job recreating Mark Zuckerberg's vision in which changed not only our generation but how people interact indefinitely. I do feel the movie could have been a little longer, but I guess a movie does its job when it leaves you wanting more. The script was sophisticated, which at times could be intimidating to your intelligence. Regardless it is an obvious candidate for oscar gold. If you still haven't checked out this film, definitely make the investment.

New: Lloyd Banks-Start It Up

Check out the latest single "Start it Up" off Lloyd Bank's upcoming Hunger for More 2 featuring Fabolos, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz & Ryan Leslie.

Lupe Lashes out at Atlantic

Ya know it is a sad business we are apart of... The music business is ugly, and regardless of how intelligent or talented you may be, they will always look to chew you up and spit you out. Lupe Fiasco, is one of these gentleman in the game who I consider a top 10 artist (lyrically). Atlantic has done nothing but hold him back as an artist ever since he sprung on the scene. I guess getting co-signed by Kanye is not enough anymore. But check out Lupe as he tries to explain to his fans the problems he is having with his label, and why his latest album is being held back harder than the NY Giants offensive line.

Em & Jay to Headline Yankee Stadium & Comerica Park

Eminem and Jay-Z have collaborated to launch two huge performances to rep their city and love for the game of baseball. On September 2nd the two will perform at Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers home stadium) for a Yankee-Tiger bout, then following that on September 13th they will return to New York for another performance during the Yanks & Tigers next meeting. This is definitely something that has never been done before. Personally I have a tremendous love for hip hop and a traditional love for baseball and the fact that two of my favorite artists will be assisting in merging the two categories is nothing short of amazing. Check out the video below of how they came about the idea.

David Guetta Feat. Kid Cudi "Memories" (Official Video)

A few weeks back a friend of mine Nicole Zerra (http://www.nicolemariephotos.blogspot.com) invited me out to Miami Beach where there was an open invitation to be in the new David Guetta/Cudder music video for their smash "Memories" at Nocturnal nightclub. Sadly due to a previous engagement I was unable to be involved but finally got a chance to see the finished product. The video seems slightly budgeted and inexpensive. Nevertheless Guetta is always doing his thing.

Drake talks Em Collabo and Album Release

Drake caught up with MTV's Sway at the Grammy's and gave us a little insight on how his debut album "Thank Me Later" is coming. Although there is no actual date on when Young Money's cash cow (other than Weezy of course) is dropping, he did reveal that the first single should be released within the next few weeks. We already know Jay-Z is appearing on the album but it appears that Eminem has sparked interest as well, and is a definite possibility for a collaboration.

A Night at the Grammy's

With the 2010 Grammy Awards in the books, it is safe to say each performer(s) did phenomenal. Despite going goose-egg with the awards, Lady Gaga kicked off the night with a dope performance along side legend Elton John. Pink had a memorable performance with a skin-colored spandex outfit and wow'd the audience with some cirque du soleil theatrics. Beyonce showed why she is the queen of R&B. The Fail performance of the night had to be Jamie Foxx/T-Pain/Slash/Doug E. Fresh. Although I'm a fan of all their work, the auto-tuned mics sounded as though they were lip syncing and their mash of "Blame It" just didn't seem to work. The breakout performance of the night had to be all stars Lil' Wayne, Eminem, & Drake along side drummer Travis Barker. Check out the video of their memorable collaboration...

Apple Unveils the IPAD

Courtesy of Daily News:
After much industry and consumer anticipation, Apple introduced the iPad on Wednesday, a tablet-style device designed for browsing the web, reading and sending email, viewing photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, and reading e-books.

The device, which will be available in late March starting at U.S. $499, is 0.5 inches thick and weighs 1.5 pounds. A 9.7-inch, LED-backlit Multi-Touch display features an almost full-screen “soft keyboard” and allows users applications work in both portrait and landscape, automatically animating between views as the user rotates iPad in any direction.

Users can access 12 apps designed especially for the iPad as well as almost all of the 140,000 apps in the App Store, including for those available for the iPhone or iPod touch.

“iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”

As part of the product launch, Apple announced the new iBooks app for iPad, which allows users to read e-books directly from the unit. The company also introduced a new version of iWork for iPad, a desktop-class productivity suite designed specifically for Multi-Touch. The suite allows to create formatted documents, presentations with animations and transitions, and spreadsheets with charts, functions, and formulas. The unit also connects to the a iPad Keyboard Dock with a full-size traditional keyboard.

Powered by Apple’s A4 system-on-a-chip, the iPad comes in two versions—one with Wi-Fi and the other with both Wi-Fi and 3G. The company stuck with its iPhone partner, AT&T, which will offer both limited and unlimited monthly data plans.

Apple also released a new Software Development Kit (SDK) for iPad, so developers can create new applications for the device. The SDK includes a simulator that lets developers test and debug their iPad apps on a Mac, and also lets developers create Universal Applications that run on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

Lupe Talks New Album & CRS Project

Courtesy of HHG:
Lupe Fiasco is ready to release his next solo album, Lasers. Appearing on Green Lantern's Invasion Radio, the Chicago MC revealed he just turned over the finished product to Atlantic Records. No release date has been set yet, it's his first release since 2007.

He also talked about the much anticipated project, CRS, featuring himself, Kanye West and PharrellWilliams.

"Pharrell hit me the other day, and he was like, 'Yo, we really need to do this Child Rebel Soldiers project,' " the rapper said during his Shade 45 interview. "We did, like, four songs [so far]. So that's four songs of Lupe Fiasco that your punk ass don't got. Hopefully, it's coming soon. But I'm not gonna stray anybody off [their own projects] like that. Pharrell hit me the other day and said we need to go back into the studio and do some more songs. I don't know what Kanye's doing, but we'll figure it out."

"Pharrell came up with the idea — 'Let's do a group, Child Rebel Soldiers,' " Fiasco told MTV News in April 2008. "So I did a song. Took Thom Yorke's 'Eraser,' cut it up, put 'Us Placers' on it, because I was going to do a mixtape called Us Placers and remake Thom Yorke's album [The Eraser] and Radiohead's stuff. I sent the record out, and it was initially supposed to have Kanye, and I wanted the Streets. The Streets, I got no response. He asked me to do the song for one of his artists. Then Kanye jumped on it and was like, 'I'm going to send it to P.' Then P sent it back, and it was like, 'This is the first song right here. Let's do it.' That was, like, a year and a half ago, and the whole time we've been figuring out what to do."

Jay-Z, Rihanna, & Bono Perform "Stranded" at Hope For Haiti Telethon

The list of performers for the Hop for Haiti telethon was quite extensive but one of the most memorable performances of the night was "Stranded" by Jay-Z, Rihanna, and U2's Bono. The song was written and dedicated specifically for the tragedy that happened in Port Au Prince early last week. My prayers go out to the families affected, and the people who have suffered.
