Live: Young Slay x Jonny Lyrks

Last week I had the pleasure of participating in the annual BE EASY Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale. Much love to the people who attended, excited to possibly be a part of it again next year. The sun was hot, but the music was cookin. Checkout a video from Young Slay and Jonny Lyrks performing their single "In My Belly" above.

Versedays x Episode 9

Versedays episode 9 is fresh out of Final Cut. This week's episode takes place live at The Cove Happy Hour, where you get a break down of my verse on the Mercy Remix with Jonny Lyrks. Short, sweet, simple. Enjoy the weekend.

Special thanks to Mal behind the camera and Jonny Lyrks for making an appearance.

Versedays x Episode 6

Another week in the books, another #Versedays for your enjoyment. In our sixth installment, Cali-native Peter Johnson brought his vision to fruition during the shooting of our "Stay Dreamin'" (Stay Schemin Remix) track accompanied by an appearance from Jonny Lyrks. Really dope shots compliments of some new equipment our team has recently acquired, so be prepared for better videos and more creativity from here on out. Enjoy everyone, and have a safe weekend.

Mixtape: Jonny Lyrks x WFTB 3.0

The kid is back with his third installment of his mixtape series Words From the Burbs, and Jonny held nothing back on this one. Perhaps a more evolved, and eclectic selection of beats on this tape can be described as nothing short of exquisite. The heat is on in South Florida and it's not coming out the Triple A. Download WFTB 3.0 for free exclusively below, and thank  me later.

**Also make sure to check out this round's Lyrks/Dutch collabo on "Let You Go", a refreshing R&B switchup with a smash hook provided by Zion Birdsong**

Video of the Week: Young Slay x Jonny Lyrks

Video of the week comes directly from Haitian artist Young Slay. Talk about an artist with a message, I had the pleasure of checking out his album sometime last month and this joint really touched home. So naturally when I heard this would be the first video off the album I reached for my macbook. Featured on the track is the talented Jonny Lyrks who always comes correct. Watch the premiere of "Food in My Belly" and spread the love.

Artist of the Week: Jonny Lyrks

It's close to midnight, I pull up outside the studio to find an eager Jonny Lyrks (pronounced "lyrics" which is an acronym standing for Learn Your Real Knowledge Steadily) sipping a beer next to his old truck. Late night sessions are normal for Jonny, thriving to burn the midnight oil night after night in hopes of being one step closer to completing his 3rd mixtape in the last 6 months. The Jersey born, now Boca Raton native has been rhyming for years and is gaining more and more attention each day. One thing I admire about this guy is his work ethic, I can recall countless occasions of waking up to a verse from the emcee waiting on my voicemail. He pumps out tracks like reps in the gym, working on his versatility and creative stamina. So what should we be expecting from Jonny in the near future? Well expect 2 new releases from his mixtape series Words From the Burbs and another slew of videos. It's all love in the tight knit community we call hip hop, especially for a couple dudes like us. We have featured together on multiple tracks, from the most recent Let U Go (Feat. Zion Birdsong), to Somebody Like Me, and the fan favorite World of Fantasy. Jonny has grown so much from tape to tape, and soon he will get the respect he deserves. Be on the lookout for the upcoming releases by following him on twitter @jonnymonsoon and download volume 1 of the mixtape series Words From the Burbs below.

Check out the official video for the promo joint World of Fantasy produced by Heavy Weight Beats.
